Duncan Butcher is a partner at Miller Nash LLP and co-chair of the firm’s Business and Corporate practice. Duncan focuses his practice on corporate law and securities. He counsels clients on transactional issues that arise at all stages of a company’s life cycle, including entity formation, corporate governance, private placement equity and debt offerings, the purchase and sale of businesses (M&A), incentive compensation plans, commercial transactions, and ongoing general corporate matters. His clients operate in a variety of industries, including technology, retail and consumer products and services, food and beverage, professional services, energy, and real estate.
Beyond the office, Butcher is a supporter and contributor to the thriving business communities in the Pacific Northwest. He is an active volunteer serving on boards and regularly engaging with committees for the local bar, entrepreneurial groups, and community organizations, including the Seattle Aquarium, the Securities Committee of the Washington State Bar Association; The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE Seattle); and Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO Seattle).
Duncan earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington before receiving his law degree with distinction (cum laude) from Seattle University School of Law.
